a deer, the symbol of the tribe of naphtali stands in the sea of galilee and watches over naphtali’s allotment by the light of a solar eclipse. yalkut moshe states that this phenomenon is a harbinger of moshiach’s arrival and when timed on the eve of the month of nissan, it’s also a warning to eastern states confronting Eretz Yisrael. the descendants of naphtali are associated with the month of adar, preceding nissan in the jewish calendar.
